Australian photographers among the winners announced in Apple iPhone Photography Awards

Apple has announced the winners of its global 2021 iPhone Photography Awards on Friday and Australian photographers have taken out awards in multiple categories.

Winners in the awards span across 17 countries, with the selected photos all taken on Apple’s popular iPhone series.

The winners were the best shots from thousands of submitted photos from photographers in over 140 countries.

Glenn Homann from Ipswich in Queensland took first place in the abstract category with his colourful architectural snap. Homann also came second in the environmental category with a photo of plastic cups.

Homann took his shots on iPhone 11 Pro.

Christian Horgan from Fremantle in Western Australia took first place in the Nature category for his image of a Waterlily, titled ‘Pondering The Positives.’

Horgan also came first in the People category for his image titled ‘Black Summer Blue Montaigne.’ Horgan’s photos were taken on iPhone X.

Theresa Lee from Sydney ended up taking third place in the Animals category for her image of a dog, titled ‘Hair Raising.’

Lee also received an honourable mention in the same category. Theresa’s photos are shot on iPhone XR.

The IPPAWARDS is an independent award showcase celebrating the best photos from talented iPhone photographers around the world.
